( PAIN vs. SORROW, SUFFER Pain has to be endured. There is no such thing as overcoming the pain. Suffering is due to nonacceptance. It is always the false that makes you suffer. Abandon the false and you are free of pain. Is not all suffering self-created? Yes, as long as there is a separate self to create it. Selfishness is the cause of suffering. The narrower the circle of my self-identification, the more acute the suffering caused by desire and fear. With the dissolution of the personal 'I' personal suffering disappears. The cause of suffering is dependence and independence is the remedy. What is civilization and culture, philosophy and religion, but a revolt against suffering. Self-identification vs. the limited is the real cause of suffering. Suffering is due entirely to clinging or resisting; it is a sign of our unwillingness to move on, to flow vs. life. Suffering is primarily a call for attention, which itself is a movement of love. It is the person you imagine yourself to be that suffers, not you. If you want to be beyond suffering, you must meet it half way and embrace it. )
